Rider Updates

Ok, so I have been fighting a bad case of Lateral Epicondilitis in my right arm for awhile and thought I would have it licked by now. It really reared its ugly head for the Firebirds race on April 8th. My grip was weak almost right after the start and had to ride conservatively for a lot of loop 1. Between that and getting lost for about 10 minutes, I was way behind. I finally got it to loosen up a bit and was able to push the rest of the race and get back to 7th. I am going to sit out the next round at Cherry Creek and see if I can get some improvement. I will be racing the Sageriders National this weekend and I'm hoping the rest will help. I'm trying to get a PRP injection approved as I really want to try and avoid surgery!

Didn't realize I hadn't posted anything lately! I am 4 races into the season now. I worked the first race, So my first race was St. George. I was dead last off the start as I am still trying to figure out the best way to get a good dead engine start with an electric start 4 stroke! I passed a lot of people early but was taken out by another rider on steep uphill and lost most of the positions I had made up. The rest of the race I was able to keep it on 2 wheels and was making up a lot of ground. On the last loop, when we got to Dutchman's Wash I had to stop close to the end to rest because my arm pump was so bad from the rough terrain I couldn't pull in the clutch any more and it was really technical. There were 17 riders in my class so I was happy with a 6th place finish after my bad start and difficulties.
The next race was Cow Dung and I had a really bad stomach virus the week prior and was on an IV 2 days before the race. So, needless to say not too far into the race I realized I didn't have the energy I needed so I just rode safe. Still finished 9th, though.
Price was next and once again I was dead last off the start. And once again, I made up quite a few positions until I went down in a rocky wash. I kept it on two wheels the rest of the race and finished 6th again. Although there were a bunch of us really close as I was only 3 minutes behind 1st!
I feel that having no steering stabilizer and needing suspension work are really holding me back right now. I can't ride at the speed I want and have confidence that the bike will stay under me. Hopefully soon I will have the money saved up to get these two necessities, and be able to race at the level I know I'm capable of.

Our club put on the Raft River Enduro today. I ran section 4 ,the mountain loop, which is a super fun tight technical section on a mountain side. Everyone loved it even though we got dumped on by a storm halfway through the race.
