Rider Updates

Nov 8 2010

It's been awhile since being on MXSponsor.com and after missing the whole 2010 season because of a nasty crash in November of 2010 where I broke a few vertebre in my back, fractured my sternum, punctured lung and a few other less serious injuries, I'm just looking to get back to 100% and riding in 2011. I know I will never be the same or even have the same "speed" as I used to, but I just feel fortunate to even be walking and miss riding more than anything! 2010 was a very depressing year for me as I didn't get to ride even once for the first time since I was 6 years old... I just can't wait to ride again!

I know I haven't been racing that much since my injury in April, but I have been doing some here and there. I have been, however, doing a lot of practicing and my fitness is almost back.

I finished up 11th in the 25+ class at Gatorback this past week! Although my overall may not look that great, I rode pretty good but the compition there was stacked...

I just can't wait to go back next year!

This weekend was fun despite a busted bike, jack-up ankle and slight concussion. I started off on Sunday by signing up for both the 250 A and 25+ A, but after first practice decided that I didn't want to screw up my bike that much in the mud. I figured I had a better chance in the 25+ class so I dropped out of the "A" class.

First moto had a great start (2nd of 22) and in the second corner made slight bobble and slipped to 4th, but within the next lap came back to 2nd. I could see the leader on the last lap, but was probably out of reach. Didn't matter, right in front of the grand stands on a 3rd gear strait I cross-rutted while wide open and took a nasty fall. Needless to say I DNF'd. After a short stay in the ambulance, I decide I could still ride the second moto. I did and limped through and ended up with a 4th.

Not at all what I was hoping for, but for some reason I still had fun. Work is a little harder this morning with a, now, 3 day headache.

It looks like it's going to be a sloopy and wet weekend for the district 15 motocross state race! No matter, though... I have been training extra hard these last two weeks. Running two miles every other day and lifting and riding the other days. I hope the Competition is ready.

I plan on racing my first 250 A race of the season. After coming of the ankle and thumb injury last years, I just haven't had the endurace to stand four motos. I think I'm up to it now, though!
