Personal History
Carter started Racing BMX ( Bicycle Motocross) at 4 years old. Racing BMX helped Carter to get the skills down for when it came time to transfer to Motocross. Carter raced over 300 BMX races and won over 183 of them. He is a 3 time Colorado State BMX Champion, 2 time Gold Cup regional #1, and is the 2017 UCI BMX World Champion in the 8 boys division, beating out 97 riders from 17 different countries to become World #1. His last year of racing BMX was 2018 and he rode and raced for a factory BMX team called Factory Powerlite/DFR. After racing the USA BMX National circuit for a Solid 4 years he was ready to start racing motocross.
Carter received a 2018 Kawasaki KX 65 on his 9th Birthday on March 21, 2018. That was the very first time he rode a dirt bike and just 3 months later he raced a local arenacross series race finishing 7th in the 65cc 7-9 class and had a blast! He then raced a couple of off season winter combat series races and was completely hooked on it. BMX racing was no more!
Carter started out the 2019 racing season by racing the Kicker Arenacross races in Loveland and Denver Colorado in January and February, then in April the Monster Energy Supercross Futures class came to Denver Colorado and Broncos Stadium at Mile High. While racing the first moto of the 65cc 7-9 class, Carter crashed in the whoop section and snapped his collarbone. And just like that, he was out for a few months to heal.
Coming off the injury, he raced the local Arenacross race that he raced for his first race the year before and qualifed for both of his main events for the evening program. During the summer, we took him to various tracks around Colorado to hone his skills a little more before he raced a series of races before the 2019 season came to an end. The collarbone injury in April really put a damper on his goals for the rest of the year, but he raced a few more races and made some good friends and he is already looking forward to competing in the local RMRA series (Rocky Mountain Riders Association) hitting 3 Amateur nationals and representing his sponsors in a positive manner and good light.
Riding Goals
2020 will be Carter's first FULL season racing the RMRA series races in Colorado on his KX 85 in the 85cc 9-12 class. He will race the full RMRA Supercross series and the combined District 25 shootout series across Colorado. This will be Carter's first FULL year so just getting through the whole season attending every race , staying healthy and having fun is the goal.
The plan is to start out the 2020 racing season in January when the Kicker Arenacross series comes to Loveland Colorado on January 3rd and 4th. Then in February 1st and 2nd, the Kicker Arenacross comes back to Colorado at the National Western Complex in Denver.
In March, our local racing organization RMRA kicks off its racing series and Carter will be competing in 2 of the 3 series with a goal of a handful of podium finishes and and a top 5 ranking at the end of the year in the 85cc 9-12 class.
