Personal History

I’m Carson, I’m seven years old. I live with my mom, dad, and my little brother Jayden, who is two.  We live on our family farm.  On our farm, my parents are co-owners with my grandparents in our track called Tumbling Creek MX.  Our track is advertised yearly for Loretta’s Amateur Nationals as their practice track.  I get the opportunity each year to meet people from all over the country at our track for Loretta’s practice week.  I’ve met several famous riders, and someday I hope to follow in their footsteps.  Being around it all of my life, I have always loved watching them race and ride.  I got my first dirtbike when I was 3, it was a Honda CRF50.  I loved to ride it daily, and raced it a couple of times when I was four and five. When I turned 6, my parents got me a KTM 50, and I started racing it right away, around football games.  I love football as well, but this year I chose to hold off on the football season to try to compete in points in our local TN/AL series.  I’d rather be on my dirtbike than anything else.

Riding Goals

My goals in racing for this year are to hopefully receive the championship in points of this local TN/AL series, and hold at least third in points in the Open 7-8 class.  I am currently training twice a week here at our track with two trainers in hopes to meet these goals.  Next year, my hopes are to compete in a different series with different tracks from what I’m used to.  I also hope to qualify for Loretta’s Amateur Championship.  My ultimate lifelong goal is to compete in Pro Motocross and Pro Supercross. Again, I would rather ride my dirtbike than do anything else in the world.

Competitive Highlights

In 2019, I gained a new confidence in myself with my KTM.  Between football games, I raced in 3 races in the fall.  I got 2nd in two of them, and won the other.  My first win had me hooked.  Football season came to an end, and my family heard about a Winter series in KY in January 2020.  When we found out about it, there were only two races left in the series.  It was a tight arenacross track, which I wasn’t used to.  The first race I placed 4th and 5th in the two classes I raced.  The second race, (the last of the series), I finished 1st in one class and 3rd in the other.  This boosted my confidence even more.
This Summer (once the COVID allowed), we started this local TN/AL series.  There are usually 11-13 riders in the two classes that I race in.
The first race was May 16th.  I finished 1st in the 4-6 class and 5th in the Open 50 class.
June 13th, I finished 2nd and 5th.
June 27th, I finished 1st and 4th.
July 11th, I finished 1st and 5th.
July 25th, I finished 1st and 6th.
August 1st, I finished 2nd and 3rd.
August 22nd, I finished 1st and 4th.

Best of all, I had the privilege to race at Loretta Lynn’s Pro Amateur Race on Sunday, August 16th.  There, I raced in the 7-8 class, being the only one in the class that was 6 years old.  I finished 22nd out of 35 racers, which I was proud of, being that some of those kids had already turned 9.  It was an awesome experience, and I will never forget it.  I only live a few miles down from Loretta’s track, and I had always dreamt of racing there someday.  Now, next year, I’m hoping to qualify for the Amateur National Championship.
