Personal History

My name is Cameron Gordon, I am 37 years old and have grown up in Idaho and Montana most of my life. I have always been involved with motorcycles of all kinds since I could first convince my parents to get my first bike at 10. I grew up trail riding and my passion has not faded. I spent quite a few years in high school riding motocross along with trails. In the last 10 years I have found my real passion riding hard enduro, cross country, and extreme technical single track all over the PNW.

In my personal life, I am married with a 9 year old daughter, Rylee. Lucky for me she shares my passion for dirt bikes. She started on her electric dirt bike with training wheels at 3 years old and began racing last year. I love having our family racing together all summer.

I do have a full time job as a Field Service Engineer which I love even though it does seem to cut into riding time. I have my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and I love tinkering on the bikes in the shop.

Riding Goals

I ride because I am addicted. I love motorcycles and dirt bikes have always been number one. I love our weekly "guys night" rides after work in the summer. Going with a great group of riders who push me and help me grow while riding some of the gnarliest and most technical terrain in Montana is hard to beat..the scenery is pretty great too. On the weekends, if there is not snow on the ground, I am riding my bike.

I will be training every free weekend and then hitting as many challenging races I can in Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Montana. I made my biggest goal this offseason to get in far better shape and it has paid off. My riding has taken huge leaps and my endurance has greatly improved. I want to be competitive at the top in the races I hit this year.

Racing here starts in March, I will be doing all the local cross country/ hare scramble races I can. I also plan to hit more in Idaho as well as some enduro races. In April the 406XC series starts again and I plan to pick up right where I left off and start climbing my way to the podium consistently!

Another facet I added this year to keep me on the bike longer is snowbiking. I can now ride year-round and stay in better shape. We have amazing terrain and scenery in NW Montana and I take full advantage of exploring it. This also gives me another avenue to explore new mods, gear, techniques, etc. which I thoroughly enjoy.

Competitive Highlights

2024 was my first year doing the full 406XC Montana Cross Country series. I started this series after a hiatus from riding due to raising a baby so learning to ride at race pace on a brand new bike after being away had it's challenges but that is what I love the most about this type of riding.

Our races in this state vary drastically in terrain but even more in weather conditions. My first few races were mudders and I did struggle with the steep learning curve but I stuck with it and by the end of the series was in the top ten. I finished the series with a 9th place overall, but the biggest gains were in learning the flow of the races, where I have the advantages in the technical terrain, and where my weaknesses were and how to focus on them to be much stronger next season.

I also completed a couple of endurance races which were brutal, but the challenge is what I enjoy for some reason. I have never had a DNF and I have never pulled over in a race which I am proud of. I always find a way to push through. My endurance and hydration are the key takeaways of things to work on in the offseason and I have been working hard at both.

Overall, my goals are focused around as much seat time as possible with a full time job, family, and the travel required in this massive state.
