Personal History
Hello my name is Callyn Hoyer. I live in Colman SD and I am 8 years old. I am in the 3rd grade. I have been riding dirt bike since I was 5 years old. I started racing when I was 6 on the ice and the following spring I started motocross and hare scrambles. In my free time I love to ride my bike of course and my peddle bike. We spend a lot of family time together riding, boating and camping. I have two older sisters that are my biggest fans at the races and I also have a little brother who is 6 that I have been teaching how to ride and race. He started racing with me when he was 5 and that is so much fun to do it together. I have met a lot of friends at the races and now we get together a lot to practice at my house and is tons of fun. On the track we are all very competitive but before we get on the track we say good luck with a little fist bump and when we get off we meet at the finish line for a high five and a good job!
Riding Goals
My riding goals are to practice every day that I can so that I can be the best that I can be and feel safe and comfortable on the track too. I had a really good year this year and have added indoors this winter so that I can keep going for next summer. Right now I am trying to prepare for Loretta Lynn Qualifiers next summer. My mom always tells me that practice makes perfect so I keep practicing a lot. Motocross is my favorite sport and someday I am hoping to be a pro rider so it is going to take a lot of practice. I watch a lot of motocross so I can learn from the big guys and I ask the big guys a lot of questions at the races and practices. I have learned in motocross that it is about Faith, Trust , Believing and Sportsmanship. I really like to challenge myself with new things.
Competitive Highlights
2015 Highlights
First season of ice racing I got 2nd overall. First season of Motocross in the Beginner I got 1st overall. First season of Motocross in 4-6 I got 2nd overall. I went to Yankton SD to race for the first time and its a really difficult track for beginners and I got 2nd.
2016 Highlights
I just went to my very first MX race in Homer NE and received a 1st overall in the 50sr class and a 4th overall in the 50 open class. Here I raced my new 2016 KTM SR for the very first time and I really enjoyed the challenges at this track. This year I have raced in MN, SD and NE. For the Sioux Valley Cycle Club Series in SD I won the 50 Open and got 2nd in the 50 7-8 Overall Year End Points, In Homer NE Series I got 1st in the 50 Open and 1st in the 50 7-8 Overall Year End Points and Now I am competing in Rapid City SD for indoor series. In October I did my first 2017 points race in Milleville MN for the 2017 season.
