Personal History
Born in 1973, in Zimbabwe, grew up on a farm, and attended boarding school. first learnt to ride in 1980 on a Honda ST70 . Have 2 brothers. Started racing motocross in 1985, aged 12, on a 1980 RM 80. Then got a new 1985 KX80 that same year. 1987 won the Junior B class championship. The next few years were on and off, lots of bike problems. Then in 1992 I rode my brother's 1991 YZ250, and won the award for "most improved senior rider" . I then got a 1992 CR250 and raced Zimbabwe Nationals in 1993, and 1994 but didn't finish in top 10. Then in 1995 I won the National 250cc championship on a 1993 CR250. 1996 I started the season, but stopped half way through, to start my own business and got married in 1995 so in 1996 we had our 1st baby. I had just finished my apprenticeship in motorcycle mechanics, so started my own workshop. I didn't ride at all for 12 years, then in 2008 I decided to get a bike again and started riding for fun. September 2008 we moved to Australia, where we now live, with our 5 children. I run the workshop at a Honda / Suzuki dealer (Bunbury City Motorcycles), in Bunbury, Western Australia. Raced one race in 2011, then started racing local club events in 2012, missed the 1st and last round, but still finished 2nd overall for the year in the Veterans class.
I have 5 kids, 3 girls aged 16, 14 and 11, and 2 boys aged 4 and 5. The boys have a 2006 CRF50 and 2007 CRF50 and the older one Broc, has just started racing. The younger one, Cam, rides but is not ready to race yet, but will soon.
