Personal History
My name is Lucinda Milford and I am 37. I have three sons that all started racing last season in the SCRC circuit full time. I had never rode in my life and my youngest told me that I could never do it so I bought a bike and jumped on the track close to the end of the season. I ended up 8th overall for the season and decided that I wanted to continue. Our whole family goes and we have 5 bikes on the track. We are known as DBR Racing and we have fell in love with the sport. My boys push me every ride to improve and they are the greatest cheering section! We have a wonderful circuit in Southeast, Saskatchewan, Canada called SCRC and the encouragement from everyone to push harder is so incredible and it is such a fantastic environment.
Dierks is our oldest. He will be 14 this winter. He hasn’t gotten one full season in yet but is hopeful. While practising on our home track this spring he had a wreck and broke his right femur. So he is healing this season. He jumped on his bike to ride the track two months after surgery. So he will be back.
Brooks is 12 in September this year. He started racing motocross on his 10th birthday at the end of the season and placed 6th. He lives, eats and breathes riding. He is very passionate and competitive about it. The boys’ Dad has even built us a home track so we can also train for racing. Brooks first full season he placed 3rd overall for our circuit and was on the podium. He has also started to ride an 85 this year as well and is a natural.
Royce is the youngest and will be 9 in September. He jumped on for a full season last year and stole the show. He came in and took the circuit by storm. He won 1st on his 50 and even missed two races due to a broke bike at the track. Not one year. He stood on the line and cheered the rest on. He is an animal! If he isn’t on his bike, he is watching videos about being on the track. He BRAPS inside his helmet while riding. He is one of a kind! He will continue to do one more year on his 50 and has also stepped up to the 65. He won the first moto race with his 50. And not far behind on the 65.
We love what we do and spend time daily on our home track if we are not at a track.
Riding Goals
Lu- My goals are to continue to push myself to be a better rider and hit the podium one day. And I know with determination and support I will get there. I get on and ride as much as I can between races to continue to train and improve daily. I have such determination and won’t quit!
Dierks- My goal is to heal and get back on riding again and have a full season under my belt. Nothing is going to hold me back!
Brooks- My riding goals are to be get better at my jumps this year. I want work harder on my corners and speed on the track. I am up near the top but am working hard everyday to better my skills. I want to work harder at bad terrains and awful riding conditions as well. I also train alot on my holeshots.
Competitive Highlights
My highlights for myself are that I got on the bike to begin with and ended up in the top ten my first year. That was such an accomplishment in itself.
We started our season off In an absolute mud hole and I pushed myself for a 5th place overall. I still am in complete shock.
