Personal History
My name is Brian McGinnis and I am 22 years old. I started racing motocross when I was 13 years old and have been passionate about it ever since. From the time I started racing, my family and I took it very seriously and we spent a lot of time traveling to races all over the northwest where i honed my skills and became a skilled rider in my on right. I moved up the ranks over time and started riding the intermediate class when i was 17. When i turned 18 and finished highschool, my parents said they were finished helping me with racing financially and i was forced to do things on my own. I kept racing on my own dime until I had to hang up my boots and focus on college. I had to sacrifice racing motocross so i could go to college for two years where i earned my AAS Degree as a diesel and heavy equipment technician. After completing college, I decided to get another bike and start doing what i was always passionate about. I have since been back on the bike for two years and I am very motivated to make the most of my racing career.
Riding Goals
I have worked hard throughout 2011 and have taken racing more seriously then I ever have. I've been riding a lot and have been working hard to get my new Kawasaki to where it will be competitive in the pro class, in which i have recently just started riding this winter so far. I want to finish out the 2011 season by just riding as much as possible and preparing myself for next year. I am going to race the WHR Northwest Arenacross series this winter so I can prepare myself to race bigger races in the northwest next year such as the P.R.O. series and the CMC Pac-west series. When outdoors starts in 2012 I want to be a contender in the pro class here in the northwest.
Competitive Highlights
I have always only had one bike so I've always had to ride a 250F in the 250 (125) and 450 (250) classes. My competive highlights are as follows.
2004-I raced the Fall MX series at OPMC. 2nd place in 125 jr. and 3rd place in BTH (before the hill) jr.
2005-I raced the GoldStar MX series and won the series overall in 125 and BTH jr. I also raced the OPMC Fall series and got 3rd overall in 125 and BTH jr.
2006 to 2009- I only raced a few times here and there but did not complete any series.
2010-I raced the Series at BurntRidge Mx and got 1st overall in 250 intermediate and 2nd overall in 450 intermediate while racing a 250F.
Winter 2011- I have worked hard and finally moved up to the pro class.
