Personal History
Hello, my name is Brent Deaton. I'm 255X in the Score-International desert series. I'm racing all three races this year solo. The 250, 500 and 1,000. The 250 is already in the record books. It was a very challenging and exciting race event. I was able to complete the race yet I was over the 10-hour time limit only by a few minutes. I had two front flats, couple busted fingers and way to many cactus encounters that slowed me down. For me, it was an overall success. I finished and got the much-needed experience to help me be more successful in the up coming 500 and 1,000. I'm currently a member of a local club called the Polka Dots Mc within district 36. It's a great club that puts on multiple races every year typically with a high racer entry. I highly recommend that every join a local riding club. Off the track I'm a real estate appraiser, which can have, it’s high and low points. When the market is slow, no money yet plenty of time to ride and prepare for up coming race events. When the market is booming, plenty of money but limited time to do anything other than sleep. My lovely fiancé is always here to keep me in check and makes sure that I stay on track when I have those brain fart moments. She's currently working on her PH'D in Psychology. She thinks I'm crazy and is doing whatever she can to help! The only reason I could think of.
Riding Goals
My goals for this year are to complete the series as a solo rider and gain as much experience as I can. To finish these races at all is a challenge and that is my main goal. While preparing for these races I've learned a lot about the mechanics of my bike as well. Personal goals off the track are to continue to improve my conditioning and fitness and put that final ring on my fiancé’s finger. For next year I plan on racing the same events solo again but I'm considering racing the 1,000 with a team of riders from my local club. Watching me do it has got them hooked.
Competitive Highlights
Finishing the Baja 250 is the highest achievement racing to date. I've only raced in local district race events and some other club desert race events. Off the track and before I got back to racing I was involved in boxing and competed at the professional level. I had a very successful career and I took my experience and gave back to up and coming amateur fighters, in boxing, kick boxing and MMA. I look forward to building on this "Highlight" list as the year goes on.
