Personal History

I am a 38 year old male living in Lehi, Utah.  Grew up in Colorado and moved to Utah for school (after 2 years living in Brazil) because the skiing is very close to campus.  Studied economics and work for a small construction sales company.

I taught skiing and snowboarding for a number of years in college and fell in love with being outdoors and going fast. I searched for years to find a summer activity that I loved like skiing.  Kayaking, mountain biking, and a few others didnt do it for me.  Then my cousin let me borrow his dirt bike, I was hooked.  I love it.  Bought and sold a few bikes to find one I love, which is the 2011 KTM SX-F 450.  I find myself thinking about riding while at work, and cant wait to get on the bike.

I have a good sized group of friends i ride with on a consistent basis (at least twice a week).  I also try to get people into the sport and in the last year have gotten my dad, brother, best friend to purchase bikes.  I use my brother's bike as a backup bike that I try to get friends on so they can have the fun i am having, and hopefully get into the sport as well.

I tried one Hare Scramble l (Jericho National Hare and Hound) and had a tough race (only got to do one lap) but loved it.  I am competitive and committed myself to doing better for 2012.  Started the USRA (USRAracing.org) in St. George with a 2nd place in class (over 30 Novice).  I have raced 6 times this year, with a total of 3 podiums (2 -2nds, 1-1st).  The first place in class was in the Wendover Border Brawl.  I am in the top 5 overall for my class.   I also finished the ISDE qualifier in Idaho City, ID in 2012.

I now have 2 young boys who are now riders.  They both have bikes and this year is our first racing for them.  We are doing desert races, enduros, and enduro-cross.

I am loving the racing, how challenging and fun they are.  I also enjoy getting people to come pit for us to get them into it as well.  Dirt biking is such a great sport to be a part of.

Riding Goals

2013 and early 2014 were tough because of injuries and subsequent surgeries.  However I am healing and started to race this fall.  We have enduros, desert races, and an enduro cross coming up.  Goals are to place top 3 in my class each race.

For my 2 sons, this will be their first year racing.  I am confident in their abilities to do well and have fun while doing it.

Competitive Highlights

2012 -  I have finished all 6 races this year with 2 2nd places and 1 1st place in class.  The first place was in Wendover.  I am in the top 5 for the season standings.  I am getting better each race.  Next year i will do all the USRA races and my goal is to finish in the top 3 for the season standings, while finishing in at least the top 5 in each individual event.  I also finished the ISDE qualifier in Idaho City, ID this year with a silver medal.  That is one tough race.

2013-2014 - Injuries and surgeries - highlight was coming out healthy

2015- Lets win some races!!!
