Personal History
29 years old. Father of one daredevil who loves to see her dad ride. Always wanted to race growing up and Dad claimed we, "didn't have good enough insurance or not enough money." Now that I'm older with a kid of my own I understand it was never about money or insurance, he just didn't want to see me get hurt. The last couple of years I've been working a ton, pulling myself in so many directions, and never being able to relax. I got to a point where I decided I needed to break away and spend more time with my family and doing what made me happy. At that point I decided motocross was the hobby I wanted to focus on. From the long car rides to races, camping out with the family, having my daughter clapping at the finish line, handing me tools, and twisting the throttle, I've never had as much fun on a bike as I did this year. I cannot wait for the next season to start already and this one isn't even over yet!
Riding Goals
As my first year racing, I decided to race Vetsport. With an "under the lights" series at a local track, I placed in the top 10 out of over 30 guys. Goal for next year being top 5 along with racing C class with some of the faster guys to better my riding.
Also raced a few D14 races this year on bigger, very sandy/rutted tracks. Man was I out of my element trying to keep up with those guys! Goal for D14 races next year is just to get to more of them and try to hang with the pack. Some of these jumps and sand sections are tough, especially for someone with minimal experience. Not going to get faster without the seat time and putting myself on tracks that push my abilities.
Pit bike class is more for fun and I don't know if I'll be doing it again on top of the two big bike classes, however, if I do I'd def like to come into some money in that series. At the very least beat out my best friend and get lots of vids/pics passing him.
