Personal History

Growing up I would watch motocross and Supercross with my family, and we would cheer on Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart. Watching the way those two would dominate the sport and pull leads like no other rider could, inspired me to learn how to ride and race dirt bikes.

When I was 4 years old I got my first dirt bike. My mother and father told me that in order to get a dirt bike, I first had to learn how to ride a bicycle without training wheels. I wanted a dirt bike so badly that after about 3 or 4 hours of practicing without training wheels, I had gotten the hang of it and I was able to ride my bicycle very well, and I just kept getting better and better at it. My parents have told me that as soon as I got the nag of riding without training wheels I asked, “Can I have my dirt bike now?”; and that’s what got me started to riding dirt bikes.

When I first started riding, my father was a member to the Wabash Cannonball Motorcycle Club in Wabash, Indiana. He would take me to the track there, and I would ride up and down the gravel road and then I would soon start to ride on the track. After about a year of track riding, my parents decided to switch me to riding in the woods, and I’ve been riding and racing in the woods ever since.

Currently, I am enrolled in my first year at Indiana University. As of right now I am undecided between majors, but my goal is to get a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences, get a good career in whatever field I choose to go into, and on the weekends race in some local races as well as more recognized races like the NEPG National Enduro Series and GNCC races, to maybe win a championship in one of those respected events.

Riding Goals

As of now I am big into riding in the woods and I ride every day that I can. I have a 2.5 mile enduro course in the woods behind my house, and that is where I do most of my riding and training. I watch videos and read about Kailub Russell, Steward Baylor, Grant Baylor, and Thad Duvall, and I pay very close attention to them in order to learn how to ride harder and faster in the woods. I also watch videos and read about Johnny Walker, Cody Webb, Colton Haaker, and Graham Jarvis to learn how they deal with and overcome certain obstacles by how they ride, and I try to incorporate that into my riding in order to be a well-rounded rider.

My goals with riding are fairly simple. Right now I race whenever I can, in order to keep getting better and better, but lately its been hard because money has been tight and the cost of racing is pretty expensive, so any sponsorship would help. After I graduate from Indiana University, and start my career with whatever I choose, I plan on racing in the NEPG National Enduro Series and GNCC series, with an overall goal of working hard and riding my best, and with the dream of obtaining a championship in either of those respected events. I am also content with being a weekend warrior and winning some local races and working my way to the top of local events in order to go on to bigger and better races and events.

Competitive Highlights

In my first year of racing in the "I" class (16-40 yr olds) of the Family Enduro series, I scored an 11th place out of 64 other riders in my class, at the first and only race I raced that season.

I have mainly raced family enduros, but I would much rather race enduros hat have the NEPG National Enduro format, simply because I always get docked points in checkpoints in the family enduro because I go too fast through certain sections. I would much rather race a race that is all about sprint speed, than a race that is about being timed and going through a checkpoint at a certain time, which is how family enduros are set up. I plan on racing the NEPG Enduro in Matthews, Indiana next year when it comes back!
