Personal History

My name is Brandon Henderson!  I am currently 16 years of age, and I love to race motorcycles!  I am a really nice and personable kid with an outgoing personality.  I love to just have a good time.  I have always, just like every kid, had his dream about becoming a professional motocross racer.  But I really actually started getting serious with my riding about a year ago when I entered my first race.  My step dad used to race the 500cc class back in the day as a privateer, and he said it was the most fun he has ever had, and he encourages me in every way possible.  He wants to take me up to Washougal next summer to see what I really have against all the big boys of motocross and see where I place and where I need to work on.  Whenever I'm not on my bike however, I like to play lacrosse for my high school team, I love to surf when I go to Cali, I like to longboard, and both mtn. and water ski.  I also love to train in my spare time.  That's me though, I'm just a really laid back and chill kid.  Yet I do get very competitive.

Riding Goals

Well as of right now, I would just like to learn how to stay on my bike.  In the past three months that I have been training, I have been out for about half of it.  The first, I seperated my L5, tore a muscle in my back, tore ligaments in my neck, and got a concussion.  My most recent injury, I broke my fifth metetorso in three places.  I'm expecting it not to take as long to heal as my back did.  But enough of that.  My goals for the upcoming year are to be getting faster and faster on my new '08 YZ250!  Everytime that I ride, my step dad helps me with every part of the track.  He is helping me out a lot.  When I am all healed up, I am planning on doing as many local races that I can.  Get some more race time under my belt, and most likely more wins under my belt as well.

Competitive Highlights

Well last year was my first year of racing, so it was really just a huge learning curve for me.  Out of 6 races that I entered, I have a first place overall, a second place overall, a fourth, a fifth, and thirteenth(my first race ever).  The sixth race that I entered was the 125/250 junior class down in Mesquite, Nevada where I placed a twelvth overall for the weekend.  But my best highlight didn't actually happen during a race.  I was practicing out at Jordan River MX Park, when I noticed that Gray Davenport was out there as well.  I decided to see where my speed has been going so far this year.  So I got on the track behind him and I was right behind him for a little bit, then coming through the whoops, I was neck and neck with him.  I had the advantage coming into the next corner on the inside and i stole his line from him.  I would have to say that's my best highlight.
