Personal History
Hello my name is Branden Lepard, I am a 27 year old Santa Cruz, CA native. I had an awesome 3rd year racing / riding clinching a podium tie for points in the A-Open class 2014 AMA WEST HARE SCRAMBLES CHAMPIONSHIP! I am very excited to announce that I have been advanced to the PRO 250 class for the 2015 AMA WEST NATIONAL HARE SCRAMBLES!! At the end of August 2015, I flew out to Ohio and borrowed A-vet GNCC champ Nate Alering's KTM 350 to race A-Open at the National Jack Pine Enduro in Moorsetown, Mi. My bike had an electrical malfunction on mile 22 after the first test, luckily on Friday we rode a 50 mile loop in the beautiful sandy Michigan trees. I plan on racing back east as much as possible with a bike and race crew always waiting for me to visit. Knowing I can compete in the A-class at National Enduro and GNCC's makes me very excited to frequently be there. I started riding dirt bikes in 2011 after my Mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Riding dirt bikes quickly became my release from everything going on at the time. I entered my first race November 2011, accidentally signing myself up in the B class at the annual Hollister Hills Hareball Hare Scramble, I borrowed my Uncle’s bike and took 7th in the B-250 class. Since then racing and training has become a serious passion for me, I look forward to representing my sponsors, and doing the absolute best I can to consistently progress in the sport.
Riding Goals
For 2016 I will be racing AMA West National hare Scrambles, National and District 36 enduros, and my biggest goal is to represent USA racing the ISDE. I did not follow the West National Hare Scramble series in 2015 because of some personal and family complications. To finish off this year, I will travel with Brian Garrahan to the fall AMA District 36 Cross Country series with some enduros mixed in.
Competitive Highlights
I am Brian Garrahan's Off-Road Training's only paid full-time instructor. We teach all levels of riders everyday from kids to adults. GOT and myself are deeply involved with the Nor Cal racing / riding community. This involvement allows me to be a great representative for my awesome sponsors!
Thank you for your time and consideration,
