Personal History
My name is Braiden Butler who was born in Sudbury, Ontario on August 26, 1996. I live in a small community called Copper Cliff with my mom, dad and older sister Brittany. I am in grade 12 at Lockerby Composite High School. My absolute favorite thing to do is ride my bike, but in my spare time I love to spend it at camp fishing and hunting. I also play hockey for my high school in the winter months. I practice every Wednesday and Saturday at the Valley East Moto Park. I went to Florida back in 2009 for one week to ride different tracks, and spent one week at GPF in 2010 training with Josh Woods. Two years ago I tore my ACL and had surgery to repair it in October so I wasn't allowed back on my bike until late April, but I worked out all winter with my trainer so I would be in the best shape I could be. The season was going pretty good until my biggest fan died. My grandfather was always with me at the practice track and at the races when he suddenly passed away while I was training at Motopark. This occurred one week before Nationals. I raced Nationals for him, unfortunately I ran into engine troubles and didn't end up placing well. This past summer I didn't race as much as I usually do as the city shut down our practise track. The closest track for me to practise now is about an hour and a half away. I did the ANQ's in Central and then did most of my racing down south. Ended the season with my best moto finish at the Canadian Amateur Nationals - 7th in Junior A class. I hope to attend more races this upcoming season and my goal is to finish top 3 in all races that I attend.
Riding Goals
My goals for the upcoming 2014 season is to race mostly down south. I will be heading to Motopark as soon as it opens in the spring to train. I will be racing my KTM 150 in Schoolboy and Junior MX2. My goal is to place in the top three in every race for the 2013 season.
Competitive Highlights
In 2010 I had a perfect season in the 85cc 12-16 class. I won every moto! That same season I placed 1st overall in the Schoolboy class.
In 2010 I was voted by my peers as the Most Improved Rider, and also received The Rider of the Year award for the most overall points.
This year at the Motocross Cup Challenge I won overall in Schoolboy and Junior MX2 both days.
