Personal History
I started riding and racing in 1992 on a XR100. My first race was in Alturas CA. Throughout the 92-94 seasons I raced in northeastern California and southern Oregon (Districts 36 and 28). Halfway through the 93 season I jumped up to 80cc D/C on a 1988 Suzuki RM80. In 1994 my family moved down to Texas where I started racing in Districts 41,42, and 21, every weekend, sometimes two different tracks in the same weekend. In the fall of 1995 I got a 96 Honda CR80 when I jumped from the C class to the B class. In the summer of 96 I raced the District 32 Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier in the 80cc 12-16 class and qualified for the Southeastern Regional Qualifiers in Jacksonville FL., but was unable to attend. In 1997 I became a fast A rider. At the 97 Spring Classic Youth/Amateur Nationals at Lake Whitney MX I finished 7th overall in the 80cc 12-16 (Mod) after my piston shattered in the middle of the 2nd moto, but at the end of the season I left the sport I loved due to family issues.
On April 3, 2007 I joined the U.S. Army and left for Basic Combat Training (BCT). I served in the army for 7 years before I was medically retired on July 27, 2014, With one 12 month deployment to Iraq from April 2009-April 2010
In 2015 I attended the Washougal outdoor nationals, and realized how much I missed riding and racing. So two weeks later I purchased my first bike in 18 years.
Over the last few years I have progressed In the 30+ class Riding for Bob Lanpher's Beaverton Motorcycles Race Team, getting better every year. In 2017 I finished in the top 5 in the 30+ Beginner class of the TNMX series in Portland OR. running a partial schedule. 2018 again finished 5th in the 30+ Beginner class after missing the last quarter of the series due to a Shoulder injury. 2019 I was able to race the complete TNMX Series and finished 1st in the High Points in the 30+ Beginner. I also jumped up to the 30+ JR class for the last quarter of the series.
