Personal History

Hello,  my name is Blake Wedemeyer and I am 43 yrs old.  I started riding motorcycles when I was 6 years old.  My family used to go out to the desert in southern California and this is where I began riding.  It was not until the mid 80's that I became interested in and started racing.  I was still in southern California so I started in the beginner class riding an 87' CR500.  I raced on and off and won a few races but never enough to move up a class.  I then began racing the day after the Supercrosses in southern Calif from Anaheim Stadium to Jack Murphy Stadium to the LA Coliseum.  In late 1991 I purchased a 92' CR500 and raced for the next year all throughout California until I tore my ACL in a practice at De Anza cycle park.

At this point,  I was faced with a 6 month recovery.  I was contemplating a return to the sport I fell so in love with but God had other plans.  The birth of my first daughter and subsequent move to the state of Colorado changed my mind and for the next several years never even got near a bike.  In 2006, the bug had come back and even stronger than before.  I purchased a 2002 CR250 and began ridind trails and such but something was missing.  A chance trip to Aztec raceway near Colorado Springs showed me WHAT was missing.  I needed to race again.  In 2007 I puchased my current ride: a 2007 CRF450R.  The rest is being written.  In 2008 I raced for the first time in 14 years and ended up 12th in points in the Senior Novice Class SRAC.  I missed 7 races in that season and got a third place overall for my best finish.  This season I am in the same class and at this writing I am 3rd in points and improving every week.  Please see my race results.  Thank you for reading.

Riding Goals

My goals for this season are to stay consistant and to get my first win.  My ultimate goal would be to place high enough in my class to move up to the Amatuer level ( B's) for next year.

Competitive Highlights

I have only been racing (again) for a little over a year and my best finish has been a 3rd.  I did race recently at a Supercross in Greeley Colorado and finished 3rd.  This was my first Supercross race in 14 years.
