Personal History
My name is Blake Umbaugh and I started riding when I was 8 years old. I didn't start racing until I was 15 years old on a 300ex. I won my first race at Medina county faircross. From then on I tried a harescramble and got the holeshot and lead for a lap. Then I wiped out and dropped back and got back to third place. After that I had a nasty crash at Malvern mx while I was in third place. This year is my rookie year on my TRX 450r. I am still learning but I am progressing quickly.
Riding Goals
For the rest of the year I wish to win all of my events. Despite being a rookie I believe you have to want to win and be disappointed with anything less. I hope to move on to ATV B by next year.
Competitive Highlights
My first ever MX race I placed 1st place overall with a 1-1. My second race I pulled the holeshot and lead for two laps and made a mistake that dropped me to 6th place. I passed three guys back and finished 3rd overall.
