Personal History
Hi, my name is Blake Curry. I am 8 years old and live in Colorado Springs, CO and I am in third grade at Foothills Elementary. I started riding when I was 5 years old but just for fun, untill this past June I began the most exciting part of my life... racing! Besides racing I also like being with my friends and riding bmx. How I got into racing was I loved watching it on T.V. and my grandpa used to race, so I had to convience him to let me start racing. After my first race not only was I hooked but so was he. It is the best family quality time!
Riding Goals
My goals for this up coming 2011 season are:
1. Getting at least third place in all races.
2. Continue to learn the proper techniques needed to win races.
3. In district 25 series, I want to finish 1st place in class3, and finish in the top three in classes 2,4.
4. I want to get at least five sponsors this season.
5. I would also like to start riding in the 65cc class.
6. To do my best in school.
Competitive Highlights
My first race was a supercross at the Penrose Arena in June. I really wanted to race and my mom had to convience my grandpa to let me race. Once I got there and raced my first moto, I was hooked. Even though the weather that day was so cold and rainy, I raced all day and into the night. Another memorable highlight was winning my very first moto at IMI motorsports, in class 3. It was the best feeling ever. The last season race at Sterling was also very memorable for myself as I placed 2nd in the first moto in class 3 and I was leading the second moto until the last corner where I was about to lap a couple of riders and I got caught up with them and I got passed and ended up placing 2nd. It was a very heart breaking experience but also a very good life lesson as well.... you can't always win.
