Personal History
My name is Blake Baskerville. I am from Ankeny, Iowa. Outside of riding recreationally and racing, I enjoy hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and hanging gout with friends.
I have only raced for 2 years starting at the age of 21. My first bike was a crappy 2002 rm125. After rebuilding that I sold it and bought a 2014 CRF250R. That was the first bike I raced and where my passion started. After running 80 hours on that in a season I upgraded to a 2017 YZ250 to challenge myself after riding a 4 stroke. I put around 28 hours on it this season as I did not have as much riding time this year.
Riding Goals
My goal for next season is to be able to push myself to go faster every race and up my positions. I am striving to get out of the C class next summer as it is a little sketchy for me. I enjoy running with the B guys but I cannot challenge myself as much when I do not have the endurance to keep up. That is why I plan to start training this winter to make sure I am in a lot better shape to start the season off better. That way I am also a safer rider.
Competitive Highlights
My first season racing I pulled a 5th place in the Iowa Moto Series in the 14-24 B/C class only racing it half the year. I was beyond excited to get that my first season with my fastest track being Westfair MX in Council Bluffs.
