Rider Updates

WOW! Slow season this year. Only two trail rides and 4 race days. Lost trails is always fun and a long expedition on new trails in Maine helped fill the void. But capping it off with the Unadilla GNCC made everything OK. The course and conditions were amazing. It took two days for that buzz to wear off. Hunting season is upon us, so until next year....

A boulder at the greenbrier enduro ended my season early last year when it refused to move out of the way my foot, which was very closely followed by my footpeg. Two surgeries and 15 months later, I was lining up for another race. Lots of MX this year, but I have high hopes for the Unadilla GNCC.

I've finally done it. My first B class trophy finish in my first race of the season. I finished 2nd place in Senior B1 (40+) at the Pine Barons Enduro in Chatsworth, NJ. Boy are my children proud of me......

This year started off well for me. I decided to take a break from MX and get back into the woods. Entering my first enduro ever, I scored second place in the senior C class at the Pine Barons Enduro, just one point behind the winner. Though I couldn't have know what the year would bring, that slipping clutch at the end of the race would come back to haunt me. At the Tuxedo Ridge harescramble my kick starter broke on the starting line. After struggling for the first lap I found my rythym and moved from dead last into 8th, only to crash my radiator into a tree minutes into the third lap, resulting in a 23rd place in the Senior C class. With my stable of bikes in need of maintenance, I took my MX bike to the mudfest they called a harescramble at the MCI in Eagleswood. Moving up to the B class, I was doing surprisingly well for the first two laps, I self-destructed on the third then siezed my engine 200 yards fom the finish. I tiring push through the mud got me 11th place in Senior B. Next was the Ridge Run Enduro. The new clutch began slipping before the first half. I went as far as I could but DNF'd when the clutch gave up before the 6th check. A break in the schedule let me get back to the MX track. I raced 30C and 40C at Englishtown and came away with 2nd and 4th place finishes, respectively. Back to Deposit, NY for the Hardwoods harescramble. An early bent shifter hassled me the entire race, but I was hapy to finish 8th in Senior B. Onto the Beehive Enduro. I find a friend at sign up and get on a line with him. I feel like I rode OK, but come away with a disappointing 11th place in Senior B. Well, vacation is starting for me so I go to Maine and try my hand at MX up north. late and unprepared, I arrive at Hemonds MX and get in my three practice laps. 35+C is the first race of the day. When the gate drops I mov
