Personal History
I grew up riding bicycles and dirtbikes. I started racing motocross at 15 until I was 18. I got married and started a family early, having a little boy and girl, and didn't ride for a number of years. I got back on a bike 4 years ago, riding a YZ125 thinking I would get back into motocross. In 2018 I realized I was mainly riding woods so I picked up my current bike, a KTM 250XC and in August of that year went to race my first hare scramble. I came together with another rider causing me to break my collar bone, shoulder blade, all my left side ribs and bruise my lung. Healing and rehab went well into 2019 so I didn't race, instead choosing to take the year to rebuild my strength on the bike. 2020 started strong with a winter hare scramble where I took the novice overall, then cover hit. The schedule was put on hold so I just did a lot of riding and camping with my family. In August I raced my first JDay GP and fell in love with it. My schedule only allowed me to race part of the series but I already knew my plans for the coming year.
Riding Goals
My first and foremost goal with riding is always to have fun and to promote the enjoyment of it to others. Beyond that my goal for 2021 is to win the B Vet JDay championship and have some good NETRA hare scramble results.
Beyond this year I plan to move up to the A Vet class.
Competitive Highlights
8/16/20 JDay NHMX Wizard GP B Vet P3/P1 1st OA I would say this race was a turning point for me this year. I just felt really comfortable and confident on the bike. I lead the second Moto from the 3rd turn to the finish.
I am pretty happy with 9th overall in the B Vet championship considering I only raced half of the series.
