Personal History

Hello, my name is Austyn Harris. I am a very outgoing and free-spirited 11year old who loves a challenge. I live with my family which includes my mom and dad, little brother and cousin. For about the last two years I have done some riding but not real competitive racing due to expenses, broken arms and trying out my wings in new things. I am currently practicing as much as I can now that the new school year has started, its really important for me to make sure my grades stay up so being able to practice during the week has been difficult but we try to get as much as we can do.I have been riding since I was five and racing since I was six, which I took a few years off to play some other sports but I couldnt stay away motocross racing has always been the love of my life. I am ready to make a full dedication to racing and to acheiving my goals. I am practicing very hard and did get straight A's in school this last year and I think it is crucial to have a good education so that some day I can go to college or even better yet become pro at motocross. I am also wrestling in school during wrestling season to stay in shape and condition as much as I can to be the best at riding that I can be. I have so many dreams and with all of my sponsors I am proud to say that it does make it easier to achieve the goals that I have. I work very hard to help my mom and dad to earn the money to pay for my motos by doing yard work for people, collecting cans and doing any odd jobs for people that I can.

Riding Goals

My current goals are to improve each and everyday no matter what. I want to be the best at what I do. I currently have a lot of work to do and not racing for the last two years will make it even more challenging to get back in the game. I would like to at least for the rest of the year make 3rd place or better every race. I would like to hit some local Arena cross challenges and the National in Las Vegas this year. My goals are ultimately to learn as much as possible to become the best rider I can be and I need all the help I can get from those around me as possible. My current goal is take first in the Oregon State Championship in my riding class. I am currently in a beginner class but I am moving up quickly and feeling that with each weekend race that I am improving so much that I will have to definately move up into intermediate/junior for the next series.

Competitive Highlights

I have mainly competed in Madras, Oregon which at the time I was spreading my wings and learning to fly to speak. I didn't walk away with 1st, 2nd or 3rd but I walked away usually with 5th or 6th. Occasionally I did get 2nd place. I raced in Albany and it was so muddy I couldn't hardly move. I was proud to just make it through the first three motos. Even the pro's were having a tough time. I raced about two years ago at the Redmond Arena cross for the first time and had a blast! I didn't place but it was worth every minute of it. I currently am riding a Honda CRF 150R and lovin' every moment. Well so each round I have gotten better and better! In albany took overall 5th, but then in medford took over all 3rd. Then this last weekend in Kfalls keno I took first overall both days and came home with two awesome first place trophies woop woop!:) Right now I am sitting 21 points ahead of second place and so I am going into Albany and Eugene this weekend leading the series in my class! Didnt wreck once this last weekend!! I am so proud of myself and I want to thank my mom and dad as well as the Jaggers and Shinkle families for helping me achieve these goals. And last but not least I want to thank all my sponsors for sticking by me and behind me all the way. Thank you to you all. I also want to take this time to help all the people who have donated their cans and bottles as well as money to allowing me to achieve my goals I wouldnt be able to continue doing this if it wasnt for you all. Wish me luck this weekend....:) To everyone that I compete against each weekend thank you for pushing me to be the best I can be if it wasnt for every other rider out there I wouldnt be doing as well as I am. I am training very hard not only physically but mentally to get better and better each week. PS to anyone that is interested in sponsoring me I would be very greatful... if it wasnt for you all I wouldnt be able to afford the great gear to race in. Thank you to all and God Bless everyone. Thank you lord for protecting me and my team mates that I race against every week. I look up to you all and can only hope that we all continue to do well and push eachother each week to be better:) Pin it to win it and ride hard or go home right
