Personal History
My name is Austin Copling. I am 26 years old and I love racing dirtbikes! It is something I have always dreamed of doing when I was a kid, but being the oldest of 7, my parents couldn't afford to take me racing much at a young age. Now that I can pay for my self I have been pursuing my racing dreams. For the past 3 race seasons I have competed in nearly every round of the Wild West national series here locally and plan on continuing to do that same in future years. The last race of the series I had the over 25b class championship wrapped up for the second year and decided to move up to the pro class here in Utah. It has been the motivation I was looking for and I have really been trying to progress and really see if I can latch on to the faster pace for the whole race. I finally am getting all the pieces put together with racing and it is just getting better as time goes on. I race on a small budget, but I have a blast doing what I love and hope to keep doing it all my life.
Riding Goals
My goals this first full year in the pro class are to learn as much as I can from pacing the faster guys, keep it fun and stay safe. Oh and also to beat my riding buddy Brandon! He has had the edge on me for a little bit but we definitely push each other to progress. I plan to line up for every Moto for the Wild West again in 2015. Also hit the end of year state championships for Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. My main focus is racing and my own construction company that pays the racing expenses. I have a used sprinter van I saved up for and fixed up all last year that I should finally be able to use for the race series which I am super excited about. Hoping to get a bunch of new and maybe some of the same sponsors I have had for the past couple years.
Competitive Highlights
The end of this last year was really fun. Winning the second to last round in the 450 intermediates and over 25B classes felt really awesome and have me the confidence to finally step up and race for dollars instead of trophies. I have competed in the full championship series for 3 years finishing in the top three every year and winning the over 25B title two years in a row and the Utah state championship in 2013 for over 25B class
