Personal History
Hello! My name is Austin Horna, I'm 30 years old and from Syracuse New York. I rode and raced locally as young person until I was about 18 which at that point, I went to college earning a bachelors in Chemistry and minor in Business Administration. I then went on to serve 4 years in the United States Army in aviation and having the opportuntiy to work on and fly in Chinook helicopters. Now, I work full time as a manger in the financial services sector, I'm married and have rediscovered my love for motocross over the past 3 years.
I ride because it's a way for me to work on me. I see it as one of the most important activities I do to better myself as a person, a competitor, an athlete, a husband and a business person. Not many get to experience the thrill of a gate drop, of a win and conversely the lows of injury and defeat Riding is why I wake up early to train before work, it's the reason I have the friends I do, the amount of discipline and mental strength it takes to be decent on a bike and compete is what attracts me to it.
Riding Goals
This year I am making a significant investment into my riding in order to improve and be a safer, more confident racer. I am coming off of ankle surgery from a riding accident at the end of the 22 season. In March, I have a week long course at MTF scheduled fro training purposes and locally, I have invested into a season long training regiment which consists of hands on training for 4 hours once week. This is in addition to practices and races I will also attend. The training facility I am training at is the Compound MX in Fulton NY. I hope to be compettitive B rider at the local level by the end of this season.
