Personal History
My name is Anthony Lawless. I began racing motocross when I was six, but my love of speed and machines started long ago, before I could even walk. My grandfather started me out riding me around his yard in upstate New York. By the time I was 2, I could drive his lawnmower tractor on my own. (My grandpa rocks at modifying things)! My grandfather then put my on a motorcycle two days after I first rode my bike without training wheels. Then, I saw a video of kids like me racing dirt bikes. I decided, "that is gonna be my job"! I have the coolest parents ever and they said ok! I have raced for almost a year now, most of that year on a Cobra; and I keep getting better and better! Besides racing Motocross I enjoy riding my pocket rocket, basketball, and wrestling. My favorite food is the kind you eat!
Riding Goals
In the next year I would like to continue preparing for racing in the next class. Some of my goals for improvement include increasing my speed on the start, and getting some more air under me on those jumps! Some repairs on my bike should help with both of these goals and I have big dreams for my future in racing!
Competitive Highlights
Some things I learned racing:
1. Racing in a rain storm gets really muddy and fun (if you can keep your bike running)!
2. Sometimes you surprise yourself and take two jumps at once!
3. You always finish a race, even when you have mechanical problems and when you are racing kids much older than you!
