Personal History

My name is Anthony C Thomas, but everyone calls me Tony. I have grown up in a small town in northern Michigan that most people have never herd of. I grew up playing school sports such as basketball, cross country and track and field. These kept me pretty busy as a kid so I never had time for power sports.  I also started water skiing at a young age and was slalom skiing at the age of 7. I have a brother that is 4 years older than me that went to UNC-Wilmington to compete in the decathlon. After watching my brother at his conference championships I made it my goal to compete in the decathlon at a division 1 college.  My senior year of high school I was all state in pole vault, high jump, and the 110 meter high hurdles. I was state champion in pole vault and runner up in high jump. I received a scholarship to compete in the decathlon at Michigan State University. While attending college I started working in my family's tent rental business that I know manage all aspects of myself now. From this i have learned how to conduct myself in a professional manner and how very important it is to act properly at all times under any circumstance.  We do all kinds of events such as graduation party's, weddings, festivals, fairs, family reunions etc. Whenever I have the opportunity I get out and ride my bike whether it is at a track or on the trails. Its always a better day when I get to swing my leg over my bike!

Riding Goals

I stated riding 2 years ago when I bought my first bike a KDX220, my first rideing experiences were in the woods and in the snow. After rideing the KDX for the summer I bought a 2007 kx250f to move up to a more current bike for rideing in the woods. I love rideing in the woods, jumping creeks and climbing log piles and trying to go pretty much anywhere most people wouldn't think you would be able to go on a dirt bike. I never really got into jumping the bike at all and to be honest it was like a fish out of water when I left the ground. The first jump I ever hit was this spring and I have been hooked ever since. I started spending more time on tracks and less time in the woods. I now have the passion for rideing dirt bikes like I had for track and field when I was younger that propelled me to all of the success that I had there. I feel like I have come a long ways over the course of the year but I know it is only the beginning. I may not be the fastest and I may not ever be the fastest but I will always give everything I have to be the best that I can be. In my first moto I fell 4 times, in the very next moto of the day I fell twice. For the rest of the year I just want to keep improving every time that gate drops, finish a little higher, push a little harder, jump another jump that I haven't before and the rest will fall into place. Every time I get on the bike I learn something new, I just want to strive to be a real student of the sport and be the best that I can be. This winter i am going to work out so i am in better shape for next years racing season. Next year i want to strive to be toward the top of my classes in every race and try and contend for the points championships.

Competitive Highlights

I may not have the highest finishes in every race but I pride myself on the fact that everytime I get on the bike I have gotten better. Almost every race I am in I place higher in the second moto that I did in the first. My biggest moments have probably been both in the last race I had a CMC, where I got the holeshot in the first moto of 250c and battled my way back to a second place finish in vet sport.
