Personal History
Growing up in a racing family, I always knew that I would end up in some form of motorsports, but until last summer I had no idea that it would be in the realm of powersports. After racing go karts as a kid, my interest steered away from racing for a few years. I ended up picking up the sport of paintball, and after 4 years I found myself playing at the highest national level. As the economy shrunk, so did our teams budget. Eventually the cost compared to the return no longer made sence, so I left the sport. At the same time, I made a cross country move to Mooresville, NC to attend college. After graduating in April of 2010, I made the move back to Oregon and really got serious about riding. Once I felt I had the skillset necessary, I decided that the Woodland Cup series would be my first venture into ATV Racing.
Riding Goals
This being my first year of racing, my two main goals are improvement and consistency. It is nice to think that I could go out and win every race I enter, but that isnt reality. My first race was an eye opening experiance, and played a big part in shaping my goals for this year. These include
-Better Starts
-Bigger Jumps
-Showing up well prepared every weekend
-Podium by Mid-season
-No Mechanical Failures
-HAVE FUN!
Competitive Highlights
Having only ran one race so far, there is not a lot to tell here yet. My first race began with a dismal start in moto 1, but I was able to come back and make 3 or 4 passes. Moto 2 was off to a much better start until I had my engine let go about halfway through the moto.
