Personal History
Success starts with a dream. Life long dreams are the unstoppable ones. That's at least, how i like to think of it.
I wasn't as young as everyone else, but i was 9 and shortly after inappropriately getting and riding a 50 sx i got 65 sx and fell in love with sport instantly. I was too much trouble on my bicycle at home so my dad got me a bike. From then on, nothing has ever captivated me more.
Nothing shows this more than my consistent determination to never give up and make the most of every opportunity. I was so bad when i began i used to get lapped so many times i wouldn't score points. I was too young to fully understand it, but now looking back at it no wonder my dad would not be the most willing to support me anymore at one point. Then one day i decided i was done learning as i tend to think that is all i was and as a rider, you are, forever doing.
Practically almost over night, that never happened again, all of a sudden i was making top 4 finishes consistently through 65 to 125 sx. Only as i have been growing up have i realised what it really means to be an athlete. I don't think as a kid you know what it means to say you want to be a professional rider even if you do, i guess the fact it's taken longer for me to bravely say this is what i want to do, has only made me more hungry.
Everyone has their own personal issues, and i am no different. I one day wish to show the world what personal difficulties motocross has helped me with. With just my mums support as pretty much helping make and be prepared for every race i have ever entered, and for that to be possible my "mechanic" and truly everything, i have taken what i have and made the most if it, learning race by race, as that's the best way to learn. Due to one reason or another, unlike everyone else, and anyone who knows or has seen me ride knows that i have never had for than a month or two at most of consistent practice. Yet i feel i have shown hearty performances despite all odds. I want to show the world that my faith in god and firm believe in idle time spent on hard work for what inspires you most and ultimately how enough of the two, faith, and hard work can change your life. I want to be a good example and earn respect in the sport.I don't want the easier version of life with more time. This is what i want more than anything.
I know the hard work it takes to be a world class athlete is one that most words still don't accurately describe. Growing up pursuing my dream to become a professional rider i have taken every opportunity to excel at anything exploring various sports but if there's two things i've stuck to since i was young it's swimming and motocross. Swimming having had several more opportunities at school led me to very fortunate years in the world of swimming where i learnt what it took to win for my school, then nationally for my city, and eventually international competition level medals, and one international children's games appearance for my country in SanFrancisco. Sometimes i'd be swimming on Saturdays and racing on Sundays. Throughout my life though there is nothing i love more in the world than Motocross. I may not yet have had ample opportunities to show it on the track for a consistent year yet, but i have done so with every other aspect of my life in and out of school and i believe anything is possible. One day after not being able to rider for almost 2 years and it was all i could dream of getting back to doing i sold my 125 sx , bought someones yz 250 f as i was now well over due to move up a class, and later that year in 2 months almost magically re-joined the Kenya team in 2013, and have since entered every race possible.
I am as determined if not more so , than anyone else out there. I just hope for a chance with a team some day, so that i can prove and show how hard i can work and am fully prepared to 7 days of every week if given the chance. I would love to ride ever day of my life if i could. I want to prove to the world that my determination, passion, and relentless soul for this sport to the world. It is my dream, and my every thought and hobby of everyday, and just a complete passionate obsession.
There is nothing i love more than to race, even though sometimes i've had to do it unprepared or through difficult circumstances, i relish nothing more than the pure chance to race at all or the chance to prove people wrong and overcome. I want to show others i can be a strong competitor, that i never give up, i want to win and be a champion. Show i can be the best in the world.
It may sound naive, stupid and generic, and thousands of people say it, but i really do want to be the best in the world. I want to race the best of the best, and inspire others, just as i have been inspired by the countless motocross heroes in the past 80 years of the sport i have tried to study, from the AMA's to the MXGP's to Arena Cross, Lucas Oil, x-fighters, Loretta Lynns and so many hero creating championships that the world has seen since the legendary Rodger De Coster moved his philosophies to the united states.
I never give up, nor will i ever do so, i am more than willing to put my name on the line for it. I will always forever dream of becoming a professional motocross athlete.
There is too much to forever love about the sport, and it's evolution with revolutionary trainers such as Aldon Baker, and revolutionary managers such as Mitch Payton and Roger De Coster, to even the mechanics, and the rest of the team.
I can only pray and work hard, and dream, and continue to thank those that have and continue to inspired me all around the sport from the legends to todays 50s. I dream of the opportunity to start chasing my dream by for riding for a team in a competitive championship to show i am worthy. Throw me any challenge, and i will find a way to solve it. I will always give motocross 110%, this is just what i would love to be able to do everyday of my life, living and breathing it every second of the day.
