Personal History
I started racing in 2004 when I was 6 years old. My first motorcycle was a Suzuki JR50 that I got for Christmas and started racing that spring and have not looked back since. After that I moved on to a KTM 50 Pro Sr then to KTM SX65’s a couple years later and now I am riding Yamaha YZ85’s. Through my progression of bikes my love for motocross has continued to grow. I keep working to become faster & more competitive on each new bike and each new class I race.
I am 13 years old in the 8th grade at East Lincoln Middle School in Lincolnton North Carolina and I am an honor roll student. I must also maintain minimum grade levels of “A” or “B” in all classes in order to be eligible to compete. I have been motocross racing for 6 years and it is my favorite sport. I also enjoy riding & practicing with my Dad as much as we can and staying at the track on race weekends hanging out with my family and friends. I have two older sisters, who with my mom come to as many races as they can too. 2010 was a good year for me completing the full season in the AMA Parts Unlimited Ultra Series and Mega Series as well as making a Loretta Lynn’s Regional Qualifier in the southeast region. Although I did not advance beyond the regional’s it was a great experience to race at alongside some of the best riders in the country. I will use the experience gained to continue to do better in the future. I continued the 2010 season, racing and training throughout the balance of year – I knew I had my work cut out for me after my class championship season last year. Moving full time to the YZ85 allowed me to focus my attention on one bike size in the 12-15 and 9-13 85cc classes, ultimately earning a second place overall and 3rd place overall, respectively in the AMA Parts Unlimited Ultra Series and 3rd place overall in the AMA Mega series 12-15 classes. I increased my training program in 2010, both on the track and off. My on track training was with Trey Kelly Motocross School. I also utilize local area tracks and private tracks during the week and maintain a regular physical training program in the gym.
Riding Goals
Goals for the Future
To continue training and racing to improve my skills and become the best I can be, working to earn a podium finish in every event I compete in. I would like to become a professional MX/SX racer in the future.
2011 Racing and Training I plan on racing throughout 2011 in the AMA, Parts Unlimited Ultra and Thor Mega Series as well as AMA District 29. I will also compete in Area Qualifiers and Regional Qualifiers with the goal of making Loretta Lynn's Amateur Nationals. I will also attend other nationals like the Spring Nationals, Ponca City Grand National and the Winter National as well as racing local and area events as time allows. My training program for 2011 will be centered around working with Trey Kelly Motocross School on a regular basis throughout the year. I also hit the practice track two to three days a week after school. In addition to my on track training I will continue my regular physical workout program to increase my strength and improve my endurance by going to the gym 3 to 4 times per week. In 2011 will campaign a pair of YZ85’s in both stock & mod classes and in the 85 12/14 and 85 9/13 classes and I will also race in the Supermini class full time.
