Rider Updates

Sep 11 2010

I raced the 250 and 450 Intermediate classes. I finished 1-1-in the 450 intermediate class and 1-1 in the 250 Intermediate class. It was a very low turnout but I had fun racing with the Pro Class.

In Moto 1 of the 450 Intermediate class I pulled chip number 34 of 35 for the gate pick so I started way outside. The gate dropped and I did my best to keep up with the 450's. As everyone shot inside I went outside and railed the corner and went from about 25th to about 15th. I picked off a few riders per lap and by the 12 minute mark I was up to 5th. Unfortunately, I could not hold off the 450's on the long straights and uphill's on this new Pala track. Add in a couple of mistakes and horrible Arm Pump and I faded to 10th. I felt 10th out of 35 was pretty good. I have never worked so hard for a 10th place finish. Overall I had a blast and Mike G at North County Yamaha took awesome care of me. In Moto 2 I got a mediocre start and was making passes and working toward the leaders when I swapped and then looped out in the rollers. I was pinned and when I fell I got run over a couple of times. Nothing broken but my back looks like I was beaten by an angry Gorilla. My brand new Shoei Helmet was destroyed and mike brand new YZ250 is a little beat up as well. I still had a great time and I was lucky to walk away from such a bad crash. Thanks to all of the guys at North County Yamaha for making the day so much fun.
