Personal History

I have improved quite a bit in my racing. I first started riding a dirt bike when I met my boyfriend. He races and I would go to his races to watch. On weekends, if we went out to ride, I got to ride his YZ125, while he rode his CR250. It was real fun trying to figure out a clutch at my age!

Well, going to watch him race got old after a couple years. So... we were given a frame of a 1989 Suzuki RM125. We Ebay'd the rest of the bike. It took a while, but eventually we had a complete bike. It was rough, but it ran pretty well. I raced the last of the season and then did a few races at the beginnng of the next season.

I was starting to jump a little more and decided I needed something with more suspension. I went out and bought a new 2005 Yamaha YZ125 that the shop was trying to move for the new year. My first weekend out on it, I looped it out and hurt my knee. That baby had power! The new bike was exactly what I needed, and progressed quite a bit from it.

Last year in August, the opportunity for a cheap 2005 Yamaha YZ250F presented itself before me. So, I steered away from the 2 stroke (since this is what was beating me) and I got the 4 stroker. It was difficult to stray away from some 2 stroke habits I had! My first race on it I got 1st place!

I am still having trouble figuring out doubling with the 4 stroke. Sometimes I forget I have to gas it at the peak of the jump and start nosing down in the air. The 2009 season I have started hitting a few doubles without problems and I am getting more comfortable on the 4 stroke.

Riding Goals

I hope for the 2010-2011 Arenacross, that I will have the guts to hit the catapult!

Competitive Highlights

In recent years I have competed in Arenacross in Des Moines, Iowa. This year I will be attending Des Moines as well as Council Bluss, Iowa. 2009 I qualified regionally for Loretta Lynn's in the 250 C modified class.
