Personal History

My name is Alix Ferri and I am a 15 year old High School student.  I live at home with my mom and dad in Meridian, Idaho. I was born in Huntersville, NC and I have lived in a few differant states due to my dads work.  Us moving around is what actually got my dad to try RC racing.  In turn, that's what got me into it and then excel at it.  Now, just over two years later, I have positioned myself in racing that has opened some doors.  Outside of racing, I enjoy my friends and family.  I enjoy summer time the best and I especially enjoy spending time with my two dogs, Molly and Bella.

Riding Goals

First I should probably elaborate more on exactly what I do first.  Simply, I drive remote control cars.  There are many forms of RC racing and I focus on off-road racing.  I have specialized in 10th scale cars that compete on carpet.  Moving forward into next year, I plan to do the same.  I also plan to start competiting in some 8th scale cars and also compete on dirt surfaces.

In just over two years, I have climed the ladder very quickly.  I was only only in the novice class for less then a month before getting moved up into intermediate.  Instantly, I was competing at the top of that class and consistantly on the podium.  Six months into my adventure in RC, my dad took me to a three day event that was held 7 hours away.  There I faced much tougher competition which placed me in the B mains in my classes.  The best part of that trip was the regional team manager from Team Associated was there too.  He had been unknown to us, had been watching me race over the weekend.  Once our weekend was complete, he approached us and asked me if I would like to be part of Team Associated.  Associated is they type of car I was driving and there are several other brands of cars that all compete in RC.  Comparing RC brands is like comparing Chevy, Ford and Chrysler.  All different but all compete against one another.  Leaving there being a sponsored driver not automatically moved me up into the expert class.

Getting thrown into the expert class quickly advanced my skills even more.  Shortly afterwards I was able to get more sponsors and continue to start competing at the highest level.  I can look back and say I got into RC racing because I thought it was fun and it was something I could do with my dad.  Now I RC race becasue I like winning!  I'm a girl in a very male dominated hobby/sport.  I'm competitive by nature as I must of got that from my dad.  He's extremely competitive and his career as a professional engine builder has won him close to 100 races and 5 world championships in NHRA drag racing.  I like winning, I like beating the boys and men who don't like losing to a girl.  Most of all I like proving to myself that with hard work, dedication and willingless.  One can acomplish just about anything.

This year we traveled to a lot of races all over the country and I had good results.  At the JConcepts NCTS5 Series which consisted of a 4-race series in MI, OR, CT and IA. I was able to finish in 7 out of the 8 A mains.  I finished the series 2nd overall in both of my classes.  I've podiumed and have won other regional races in the PNW.  In March of 2023, we competed at the ROAR Carpet Off-Road Championships just outside of Orlando, FL.  This race is held once a year and it brings the best of the best.  At the conclusion of the race and over 10 entries combined.  I was able to finish 16th and 26th overall in my classes.  I have improved a lot since last march and I look forward to attending that same race in 2024 in VA.

My dad stopped racing shortly after I started racing and became who everyone now knows as "Pit Dad".  He has committed to and supported me in reaching my goals on and off track.  My parents are my biggest supporters and will continue to do that moving forward.  We plan to race Regionals and Nations as time and budget allows.

Competitive Highlights

A lot of my accomplishments if not most were all talked about in my goals section.  I've had many accomplishments and achievemants not just in the two years that I've been RC racing but also in live.  I strive to do well in school and have maintained right at a 3.6 GPA.  I've been raised to be kind and treat others as I want to be treated.  I have plans to go to college even though I'm not completely sure yet, but I want to do yet.  I want to continue to race and grow as a person while doing all of this.
