Personal History

My name is Alex Chillura. I grew up racing motorcross and from the Tampa Fl area. After being off a bike for about 10 years, getting married and having 2 children, my eldest has found his way and love for the sport. What started as me getting just a pitbike to ride with him again to train him, has turned into him asking me why I don’t have a big bike. Shortly thereafter that I found myself riding w a large group of friends, many of which have never raced prior or even rode. After teaching them all and watching them fall in love with the sport they decided to try out racing harescrambles for the first time so I joined them this last half season in beginner class as I had never done a harescramble prior to this FTR HS season. The season just finished up and I am now preparing for my next season going into Open C. I ride a Gasgas MC450f for track riding and my woods /hs bike is a MC350f. My eldest son Gatlin is 4years old and is currently racing a pw50, gasgas e2, and a stacyc 16e for stacyc races. We have our own private track on our property and regularly practice at Dade city and Croom as well.

Riding Goals

My goal for this first season of FTR beginner after only being back on a bike about 4 months was to be top 20 every race. Our class almost always had 65-70+ riders in our class so it was a deep field for sure.

I love this sport and I always have. The workout and feeling you get from it is unlike any other. The peace and freedom on a track or in the woods are also unmatched in their ability to help me unplug from my crazy everyday life running a business.

Now although I’m racing and still expecting myself to do well, I also am largely focused on my sons growth and it’s amazing to see him fall more and more in love with it as well and something we can do together.

My goal for myself next year is to be a minimum top 10 contender in Open C, shooting for a top 5 finisher.

Competitive Highlights

This past season although it was my first I had some great races, and all these finishes are in races that had over 50 riders in my class/ race line.

1 10th place

2 17th place

1 18th place

1 57th place technically a DNF due to my fuel disconnect line catching a branch in lap 2 and breaking the barbed fitting off inside the line but I was in 8th place when that happened.
