Personal History
My name is Alex; I am 8 years old and have a love for motocross.
I got my first bike when I was 2 years old, it was a PW50 and it had training wheels. It wasn't long after that, I decided I wanted to race.
I am currently racing a KTM 50cc in the Manitoba Motocross Circuit (MMA), this is my last year on a 50cc bike so I have also started practicing on my KTM 65cc.
Racing is my favorite thing to do; everything resolves around it. I work hard on and off the track to improve my racing skills. In general I am very active and play all sports, hockey being my winter sport. Being active helps me stay in shape for MX season.
I take every chance I can get to practice! Being a good sport is just as important as being a good racer. I try and be a good role model for the younger 50cc riders, I always try to encourage them, give them "tips", make a point of telling them "good luck" before a race, cheer for them while they race, etc. For myself, as much as I am always trying to get first place, if I don't, I am still very happy for my racing buddies.
Riding Goals
My long term goal is to race Supercross; to continue to work hard to improve my racing skills and have fun doing it!
My short term goal is to finish the 2017 season in the top 3 of the 50cc 7-8 class.
Next year I have to switch to a 65cc; so want to keep working really hard to get comfortable on my bike and try and race a few races this year to help prepare myself for the 2018 race season.
My final goal is to one day attend a moto school over the winter, to help me improve my racing skills so I can be more competitive. As well, to give me some seat time over the winter.
Competitive Highlights
Currently racing the Manitoba Motocross Association (MMA) circuit in the 50cc 7-8 class and will be starting to race the 65cc 7-9 class as well.
In March 2016 I got an opportunity to participate in the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge in Toronto. That was a dream come true; during the race, out of 12 kids, the announcer commented on my form/technique and that was probably one of the coolest things.
In 2016, I raced the Manitoba Motocross Association (MMA) circuit in the 50cc 7-8 class and placed 3rd for the season.
In 2015, I raced the Manitoba Motocross Association (MMA) circuit in the 50cc 4-6 class and placed 1st, won the season championship.
In 2013 & 2014, I raced the M.O.T.M.X circuit and did very well!
