Personal History
My name is Alec, I am 23 years old with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine. I race professionally in Downhill Mountain Biking as well as race B class in Motocross.
I started racing Motocross when I was 4. I raced nationally with my family until the age of 13 when my older brothers left for college. I transitioned to racing Downhill Mountain bikes at 14 as this was something I could do on my own and support myself. I rose up through the classes and by 17 I was racing in the premier junior class at nationally ranked events. At 18, I started racing Professionally and won several regional races at Northstar.
At around this same time, I decided to take a break from racing all together in order to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2022.
After graduating university, I decided to get back into Motocross. I bought a KTM 250 SX-F, a truck, and started going back to the track. I trained hard, raced a few local races and set making the main in the 250 B class at Mammoth as my goal. 8 months of training and hard work at the track, Mammoth rolled around and I was able to walk away with not only a main event qualification, but an 18th OA in the 250 B class and an 18th OA in the 250 B/C Open class. Next year, we'll be going bear hunting.
Riding Goals
My primary goal is to get my Pro license and try to qualify for a pro national. The plan is to continue to get fit and keep training. I'm planning on racing more amature nationals in 2024 along with LLs in the B class. Then move up to A class for 2025 so I can start working towards my Pro license. So if all goes to plan, by June 2026, I should be able to start trying to qualify for some outdoor nationals.
