Personal History
Akana Day Larson has been racing since November 2007. Growing up she had a few small bikes but didn’t get a chance to ride too much before she out grew them and she didn’t really seem to pursue it too much. She really first got started in 2006 when she asked for a dirt bike for Christmas after going to the track with me a few times. I got her an old “96” XR 80. Of course I worked it over and it was a perfect starter bike. Akana rode the wheels off of it every Saturday and Sunday at the local tracks. She really had a natural instinct to ride MX without too much coaching. In August of that year she said she wanted to go racing. I got her a nice 2004 CR 85 and planned to let her practice a few months before entering any races. We went to Kansas in November and took the bike to ride some different tracks. It just happened that the track we went to ride was having a race. It was time! She raced the 85cc 12 -16 class. There were 9 riders and she got 7th. She was hooked from that day and has been racing ever since.
