Personal History

Aiden is 11years old and in Grade 5 at Clarendon Park Primary School in Port Elizabeth, South Africa

He started riding on his Yamaha Peewee 50cc at the age of 5 years and showing great interest for Motocross he then moved onto a KTM 50SX in 2018 at 6 years old. 

As a Rover Motocross Club member, Aiden started competing in the 50cc Pro Class in 2019 and won the local Rover MX Club Championship for 50cc Pro class in 2019, 2020 and 2021, with 1st place in all heats over the 3 years, except for 1 heat in 2019. 

Aiden also competed in the SA Motocross National Championship in 50cc Pro Class in the above years, with overall National final placings of 15th in 2019, 7th in this second year 2020 and finishing 3rd overall Nationally in his final 50cc year 2021.  

In 2021 Aiden was selected to represent South Africa in the 50cc Class in the FIM Motocross of African Nations (MXOAN) in Uganda, but due to Covid restrictions that event was cancelled. 

In 2022 he was again selected to represent South Africa at the FIM Motocross of African Nations Championship in Uganda, this time in the 65cc class.  With 1st place in 2 heats and a 2nd place in the final heat; Aiden won overall and with that the title of 2022 65cc Motocross of African Nations Champion.   

Having competed internationally and won the MXOAN in Uganda, Aiden was awarded his Junior Protea National Colours for Motocross at the Motorsport South Africa Award Ceremony in February 2023. 

Aiden competed n the Rover MX Club and Regional Eastern Cape/Border Motocross Championships in 65cc Pro class in 2023  and won both Championships. 

Nationally, Aiden competed  the in SA Motocross Nationals in the 65cc class in 2023, where he finished in 4th position on the Championship points table. He was also selected to race for South Africa in the FIM 2023 Junior World Motocross Championship in Romania, as well as the FIM 2023 MXOAN in Cape Town in August, where he achieved 3rd Overall.

Riding Goals

Aiden does school athletics at Clarendon Park Primary and for fun he enjoys anything outdoors, boogie boarding, surfing, cycling, fishing, trampoline jumping at Gravity, playing Xbox games online with his buddies or watching AMA, European Motocross and Supercross racing online with big dreams of racing overseas in those events one day, as his role model Eli Tomac does.

He is extremely passionate about his motocross and trains hard with his coach Royce Griffin, wanting to always grow to the next level, challenge himself and improve on his weaker areas.

 Goals

As the 2023 season  ended  well , Aiden is confident that his continued off season training,  hard work & dedication will claim a few more podium positions in the various Championships which he will be competing in during 2024 in the 65cc class again in South Africa, Africa and possibly Europe and USA
