Personal History

2010 was the first time I rode a dirt bike.  I got into riding because my son, who was 8 at the time, wanted to ride.  I thought it would be great if i could ride with him.  I did my first race in the spring of 2010 and I was hooked.  I raced four races that year and placed 12, 10, 10 and 14.  I never quit and never had a DNF.  At that point I decided to course marshal for a local shop, Indymoto. They marshaled for the MAXC and the MWXC series in Indiana.  I want to do that because I could practice my skills and watch others and pick up on their techniques.  Also I got to ride for free so I could afford to go to more races and marshal.  More races equal more seat time.  Seat time was the best tool for improving.

In 2011, I chose to race the MWXC series and course marshal the MAXC series.  Season started out rough.  Spring was a wet one and the second race I marshaled all day Saturday (at least 8 hrs) in  muddy conditions then raced the next day at MWXC.  That's why I got third.  I was drained.  I was stuck in a ravine mud quagmire for at least 20 minutes but I managed to get it out and finish the race. Needless to say I didn't marshal and race in the same weekend again.

2011 I was also sponsored by a local shop, Westfield Yamaha & Suzuki.  I did win my class championship.  I will be racing solo in the MWXC team race which is a 3 hr. race.

Riding Goals

My goals for 2012 is to race the MAXC and/or the MWXC series.  I will be moving to the VET B class for the MWXC and the Heavy C or B.  I want to shoot for podiums at each race next year.  I want to get as much seat time as possible and work on the weak points.  I also need to work on some MX in the winter and throughout the year.  I would also like to compete in a couple of Enduros and the Endurocross in Indianapolis.

Competitive Highlights

This year in the race at Barbersville, I got a front flat one-mile into the second to last lap.  I limped around to the finish to see the white flag.  I went back to the trailer to call it a day because there was no way I could change a flat in time to get out.  Up to the point of my flat, I was dominating my class and had a better OA at that point.  At the end of the race, I found out I still finished 2nd.  The race was co-sanctioned so I got first in my class for my series.  I felt really good because it was a technical course.
