Personal History
As I watch my son Ace grow into a racer like I, his father. I begain to believe in the ol saying (born with it in your blood). I, Ace’s father found my passion for racing in the summer of 1991, I was 7 years old. It was a speedway bike race in the high desert of Southern California. The minute I seen the gate go up for the first race of the night I knew that was what I wanted to do. In 1992, the next season I stared racing speedway. I won track championships throughout my years and even a Jr. National championship in 1995. However in 1996 my parents decided to move the family back to a small farm town in Southern Illinois. There is when I decided to race MX and BMX because speedway was unheard of in the mid-west. I continued to do that throughout high school and loved every lap of it. In 2005 I decided to move back to California and started racing sprint cars. In 2010 I met my beautiful and loving wife, Ace’s mom. We decided to start a family, that being said I hung the helmet up for good. I wanted to focus on being the best dad I could be, I made a commitment to be just as good of a dad as I was a racer.
My son, The Awesome Ace
from the time he could crawl no matter what he was playing with or what he was doing if he heard motorcycles he stoped what he was doing and all of his attention was focused on the sound and the vision of that race, tv show, or video I was watching. At two years old he was Peddeling his 12” BMX bike with no traning wheels and never passed up the opportunity to ride on she sisters CRF50. When He learned how to open the door from the kitchen to the garage we would alway find him out there sitting on the 50. On his 3rd birthday he got to ride that 50 for the first time on his own. As friends and family gathered and unaware of the outcome, he surprised us all. We decided to get him into competitive BMX racing. We decided to get him into competitive BMX To build straight & endurance. We were not sure of the whole MX thing just yet. So we build him a MX track on our two acres and began to work with him on a PW50 his uncle gave him. Shortly after his 4th birthday we Signed him up for his first series of MX Racing. He is currently active in racing and will begin his last AME series on his PW 50 then moving up to the KTM 50.
As his father I strive to teach him that respect, commitment, and character is the foundation of a champion. I believe that moment he created on his 3rd birthday was the first ride of his dream of becoming a champion.
Riding Goals
