Personal History
I started riding trail bikes in 2002, and eventually made the jump to motocross racing in 2007. Since then I've been progressively improving, working my way up through the ranks. When I started dominating at my local track, I realized that I had hit a plateau and wasn't really getting any faster. That's when my family and I decided that I needed to start racing more at the regional and national level. I made two trips to the NMA Grand Nationals (in 2011 and 2012) along with a couple runs through the California Gold Cup series. Each experience really helped me and I would notice a fairly significant increase in my own speed and skill afterwards. Unfortunately adulthood and the real world caught up to me and I was forced to move away from my bike to get a job in July of 2014. Then, an idea hit me. Thanks to my previous experiences with bigger races, I knew I was faster than I would let on. The only thing really holding me back was a lack of confidence which caused me to not push myself to go as fast as possible. I decided that if I simply tried to go faster, I wouldn't have any problems. So I made up my mind to start racing in Amsoil Arenacross and actually kickstart a serious racing career. That decision started a long process that eventually led to me getting the 250F that I needed, and then competing in the A class for the first time to become eligible for arenacross. That first race in 250 A is what finally convinced me, without a doubt, that I was moving in the right direction. Despite having not raced, or even really ridden, in almost a year and a half, I was able to ride faster and charge harder than I ever had in my life. Sure, I definitely wasn't the fastest, and my lack of fitness caused my pace to drop off pretty rapidly, but when I could hang on to the bike I was also right in there with everybody else. So now I've been training and getting back into shape, and come January 9th I'll finally be making my Amsoil Arenacross debut.
Riding Goals
My goal is to make a good impression in Amsoil Arenacross, and eventually use that to get into supercross. It's not going to be easy, but I believe I have a legitimate chance and I'm willing to put in the hard work and determination necessary to achieve my dream.
Competitive Highlights
In 2012, I managed to finish 3rd overall in the 250 2-stroke Open class at the NMA Grand Nationals with 6-2 moto scores.
