Personal History
My name is Jack Bednarek, and I’m an 8-year-old motocross rider from Oklahoma. I started riding at age 7, which is considered a late start in this sport—but we’ve been chasing the curve ever since. My journey began with a beat-up PW50 in the backyard, just me, my dad, and a dirt bike. What started as fun turned into full-blown passion. My dad is the ultimate Coach! He is a 100% disabled Combat veteran and uses all of his remaining energy of everyday to push me like they did him in the Marines
I’m coached and mentored by my dad, who’s never raced but gives 110% learning and training alongside me every day. Our family is fully invested in this sport—emotionally, physically, and financially. We ride, train, and travel together. Motocross isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am now.
What Sets Me Apart
Motocross is about more than just results—it’s about how you carry yourself. I’ve learned firsthand how much it means to feel seen at the track. After being left out when a friend celebrated a big win, I made it my goal to make sure no other rider feels ignored, no matter where they finish.
I make it a point to show love to the new riders, the kids who struggle, or anyone having a bad day. That’s not something my parents told me to do—it’s just how I feel it should be.
At Round 1 of KMCS, I even stopped on a practice lap to help a 6-year-old who had crashed on the jump face, because the flagger couldn’t see him. Compassion and competition don’t have to be separate. I believe you can ride with heart, and still ride to win.
Riding Goals
I ride because I love the challenge. Motocross pushes me every day—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I ride to test myself and grow, both as a rider and a person. I’m working to close the gap between me and the riders who’ve been doing this since they were toddlers.
This year, my goal is to keep improving on the 50cc while learning and competing on the 65cc. I want to show that even with a late start, you can catch up with grit, focus, and work ethic.
Next year, I plan to run full-time in the 65cc class, with a goal of consistent top finishes and qualifying for regional and national events. I ride because I want to earn every gate drop, every pass, and every finish.
Competitive Highlights
Jack began his motocross journey in June 2024 with zero prior racing experience. Despite starting late, he committed fast and finished his first OSCS season 5th overall—even after missing two rounds early on while we decided whether to fully commit.
We kicked off 2025 with a tough start at OSCS, finishing 10th due to mechanical issues, but Jack bounced back immediately with back-to-back 3rd place finishes in both 50 Open and 7-8 classes at Round 1 of the Kansas Motocross Championship Series (KMCS).
We now train three hours every day—physically and mentally. Jack has learned that in motocross, you only earn what you’re willing to work for.
We just picked up his 65cc, and he’s already putting in the time: clutch work, shifting drills, and corner entries and exits. He’s gained a tremendous amount of experience in a short time, and the progress shows.
Jack rides with a chip on his shoulder and a message he lives by:
“If it’s not hard, it’s not worth it.”
