Rider Updates

Jul 1 2015

I picked up a cherry 2004 CR250R. Decided I wanted to get back to my roots and ride 2T.

SO much fun, and a light bike. A bit of a re-learning curve getting back on the 2 smoker.

Still chipping away up in the novice class. Getting great starts with some holeshots, but still not hitting the top 5 which is my goal for my first year in the novice class. A podium would be nice.

But, I am very consistent and keeping within the top 10 finishes.

OK, so I got bumped from the beginner class to the novice class at the end of the 2014 race season. Bigger gate! 22 to 24 riders. I felt I was doing very well previously in the beginner class, consistent top 3 finishes and great starts with lots of holeshots.

Well, a different game in the novice class. These guys got their game faces on. I have been finishing at 50% on average. Starts getting better but still looking for a holeshot. The top 3 guys in my class are pretty fast, relatively speaking. I think they could hang with the intermediate class as their MyLaps lap times show that. But it forces me to step up my game.

Dec 1 2014

I've been stepping up my training, working harder to get faster as I have just been bumped up from beginner to novice glass within the OTHG MC.

Looking forward to a new racing season with the club in 2015.

I picked up a new-to-me cherry 2012 CRF450R a few months ago. I spent some time getting it set up the way I like and have done several practice rides. I've raced the '12 2 times now with the OTHG club.

4 holeshots total, and two 2nd. overall finishes. with two wire-to-wire finishes. I'm stoked with my new CRF450R!

Finished doing winter maintenance on my 2005 CRF450R. Added a new FMF Q4 muffler and Power Bomb header. And of course I performed fluid changes, new tires and tubes, fork and shock oil changes. new air filter. And a ton of other items, all noted in my log book and hour meter.
