Rider Updates
It was a snowy start to the 2012 Winter Baja in Lake Linden, MI. A record-setting 48 vehicles participated in the 4-hour regional race. Chassis 41 and Chassis 42 were in attendance and found success early. Both vehicles managed the 1.6 mile snow covered course very well, putting up competitive lap times for the first 2-hours of the race. Chassis 41 experienced a slight hiccup about an hour in but it was quickly corrected and back out racing. Chassis 42 experienced a broken throttle cable with less then 5-minutes to go in the first 2-hour stint. The second 2-hour stint saw both Chassis 41 and Chassis 42 competitive competing. At one point they were 5th and 6th respectively in the field. However 41's track life expired with a broken differential about an hour in, permanently removing it from the race. Chassis 42's last driver Andy Block continued to push the vehicle and was in 3rd place with 15 minutes left in the race. After contact between another vehicle, Chassis 42's transponder used for lap counting fell off. After 4-hours and plenty of action 42 pulled off a 7th place finish our of the pack of 48.
