MOTOCROSS - American Suzuki Spring Series By Billy Ursic Photo By Zak Lowery (Photo © Cycle News, Inc. 2006) No Bull – Durham Makes it a Double Sweep 5/29/2006 ARMAGH, PA Those who didn’t go to Pleasure Valley Raceway on Memorial Day for round eight of the American Suzuki Spring Series, Presented by Fox Racing, missed some of the best battles since Josh Lichtle and Davi Millsaps battled it out in the Schoolboy class at Loretta Lynn’s. National riders who came to Pleasure Valley for this Memorial Day Race were Women’s National Champion Jessica Patterson and Four-stroke national champion Eddie Ray, both from Florida. Also attending was New York’s Vet-class hero Kurt McMillen, and Washington, New Jersey’s Nick Desiderio. Double-class winner Darryn Durham (95) bested the likes of Roy Holt, Benjamin Ritter, James Evans and Jeremy Cook to make it a four-moto sweep on his PR2 Cernic’s Suzuki. Larsen followed up his dominant High Point Amateur Day performance with a 1-1 tally in the 125cc B, 250cc B and Four-Stroke classes on his Team Green Cernic’s Kawasakis. Lowell Spangler, another Team Green Cernic’s rider who hails from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, scored a six-moto sweep in the Schoolboy, Open Mini and 85cc (14-15) classes. Fred Mantsch took the overall 50cc Class Two (7-8) win by going 1-2. He also went 1-1 in the 65cc (7-9) contest for a double-class win. Jimmy Evans, the 2003 Loretta Lynn’s Over 25 champion, got some heavy competition from District 5 stalwart Gaylon Dickson, as they both prepared for the High Point Regional. They battled for the overall win, with Evans getting the nod. In the Women’s class, Patterson had an easy day, but Tonya Mantsch turned some heads and finished in the ru
